Terminology extraction

Computer-aided terminology extraction proves useful when you need to search for customer-specific vocabulary.

Terminology plays a very important role in many different fields with translation and localization being only some of them. Many sectors use wording that is only typical for them, while some customers may opt for their preferred terms. Researching them is a time-consuming task.

There are many CAT tools in the market that enable such feature so it is certain that TMSs must follow. After terms are extracted, i.e. a bilingual list of candidate terms is created, it should still be verified by a human terminologist or translator.

In XTM, this feature is based on the Alignment so it is also available only to enterprise accounts and the output is an Excel file.

It utilizes Big Data, AI, and advances in computational linguistic technology including Inter-language vector space. The feature already works for 50 languages helping customers save up to 80 percent of time on glossary creation.
